Our Story

With a career in Interior Architecture, and an obsession with design, colour and sustainability, What The Mood began. An idea to create beautifully bold pieces of the highest quality. Our lights are minimal and contemporary, and inspired by architecture, with colour, shape and form being at the forefront of each design.

Sustainability is key, with each piece handcrafted using an eco friendly resin. Waste material is recycled and reused. Our pieces are built to last, our materials are environmentally friendly, and our packaging is 100% recyclable and biodegradable. 🌱

Our Materials

We use a material called Jesmonite to make our colourful shades. Jesmonite is commonly known as a building material, often used as an alternative to fibreglass. It is a composite material made from gypsum (typically sourced from sedimentary rock). It is water based and non toxic, making for a more environmentally friendly option. When dried, Jesmonite takes on an extremely hard form, and resembles a concrete like finish.

Our brass pieces are sourced locally in the UK and are of the highest quality. We use brass not only because we think it’s totally gorgeous, but because it is actually one of the most recycled metals in the world, thus making it highly sustainable. ✨
